The Neuroinformatic Group of Neuro-center is leading the research-oriented informatics activities for the Medical Division Neuro and plays a key role in the implementation of the Insel Group's digitization strategy. The group de-velops data-driven platforms and tools to facilitate the research activities within the Neuro-center and its three clin-ics (Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology), and we work in close collaboration with the Insel Data Science Center (IDSC) in order to fulfill all the technical and legal requirements of InselSpital.

The recently established Medical Division Neuro (Medizinbereich Neuro, MB-Neuro) unites excellence and international visibility in neurospecific research domains ranging from experimental research via translational and clinical neuroscience to the advancement of medical technology. Unique to the MB-Neuro is the combination of expertise in multimodal, experimental phenotyping of neurological and neurosurgical disorders that enables research across multiple domains. In this content, the Neuroinformatic group is in charge of the full development cycle of the MB-Neuro platform (develop, testing, production, and maintenance), which aims to augment individual disease phenotyping by combining specific, quantifiable experimental indicators of the pathophysiological state.

The challenge

  • Develop and support the performance of the MB-Neuro platform
  • Design and implement software APIs, and work with application scientists to optimize software interfaces and pipelines
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment, understand customer needs, continuously improve user experience
  • Connect the core clinical dataset with expert-annotated and raw imaging data, laboratory data including biobanking, and biosignals
  • A minimum three-year commitment is strongly encouraged

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or higher education degree (university, university of applied sciences) in computer science or software development.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, C or C++ (minimum 1 year working experience).
  • Knowledge in Linux OS, version control applications (GIT) and bash scripting
  • Experience in SQL databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
  • Experience in Python programming
  • Experience in Back-end development
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus
  • Experience with some of the following topics is also a plus:
. Experience with data analysis and visualization (D3.js, . Three.js, WebGL)
. Experience in Front-end development ReactJS, NodeJS
. Experience in UI/UX design with OpenGL and Qt
. Experience with Java programming,
. Experience with XNAT, RedCAP, DICOM standard
